Complete Victorian Bedroom
Our Client wanted to achieve the best possible finish and wanted to be rid of the textured ceiling, we advised at the beginning of the quoting stage that it would probably be more cost-effective to overboard the ceilings and skim rather than remove the paper as it appeared quite loose and blown places. Our plasterers took time to find the correct joist positions and fixed new thin line plasterboard to the existing joists and skimmed the ceiling down to the picture rail.
Our client also wanted to use Farrow & Ball paints and prefers then finish of this paint over the top over lining paper. We removed all existing decorative papers and some of the loose damaged lining paper, cleaned down, rubbed down then stabilized the walls with Zinsser Gardz before making good all the cracks and defects. We rubbed down all the filler and lightly rubbed the entire walls with our dustless sanders before applying another coat of Zinsser Gardz. We then hung 1200 grade reinforced lining paper ready for the Farrow Ball Paint.
All of the woodwork, Radiators and fireplace were rubbed down, we made good with a combination of fillers and caulks before applying the correct farrow & Ball primer undercoats.
